Standard tex mex fare -- pools of refried beans, lots of mild cheeses melted over everything, big fat burros with sauces ladled on top. Nothing is particularly exciting or innovative, but it's solid comfort food delivered quickly and expertly. Lighting is dark and pleasant, giving the restaurant a comforting cave feeling.
The speed and and precision of the house and kitchen can't be overstated. Food just seems to materialize.
Also, I was once here with a toddler who was in a developmental phase where he couldn't stop exploring and making a mess, despite our best efforts. I was mortified and left a big tip, but years later I still feel terrible about the state the table was left in. I'm haunted by it. Enjoy your five stars, Pedro's, and I'm sorry.
