  • I really hate that I have to write this review. The owner seems like a lovely person but the service I received just wasn't great. Some of this, you'll see, was my fault but better customer service really could have improved this experience substantially. This was my first time getting lash extensions but I've worn falsies and have many friends who wear lash extensions. I've also been around the beauty industry for many, many years. First, my appointment was scheduled for noon. My lash technician was a male whose name begins with an "R". (I'm getting old. Short term memory goes first). He was 30 minutes late for my appointment because, as I learned later, he'd done a favor for another client. There was a receptionist at the front of the salon but she didn't mention that there'd be a 30 minute wait. A good salon would have let me know about the delay and given me the option to reschedule. Here's where I blame myself: Since this was my first time getting lashes, I should have asked more questions about the type of lashes I would get. I assumed that the technician knew what he was doing but he never asked me about my lifestyle, style preferences, etc. I love makeup, etc., but I am otherwise not big on artifice (no fake nails, weaves, etc.). When the technician was done with my lashes, I was shocked. I looked like a drag queen and not a good one. (A good queen is a force to be reckoned with!). The lashes were WAY too long and the quality of the lashes themselves looked cheap. They were blue/black. I honestly could have gotten more natural looking lashes at the drugstore. I did ask the technician if he could trim them and he said he didn't know how to do that with the lashes on. He did his best and I really appreciate that he made the effort but my lashes still looked pretty bad. Finally, I went to pay. I hadn't checked on the price when I made the appointment but most places in the area charge about $125-$150 for your first set so that was what I was expecting. The receptionist quoted me $125 but moments earlier, I overheard her check out another client and charge her $99. She said that was the special for first-time clients. Well, I'm a first-time client so ... The receptionist then said the $99 special was a Groupon but she'd honor that ... I was good with that. You have to pay for a service when someone spends the time, regardless of whether you're satisfied. The receptionist then found another special for $59?? So I just went ahead and paid $59 but still couldn't tell you if that's the price for every first-time client. :( I ended up coming home and removing the lashes with coconut oil. Some of my own lashes came off in the process so now I'm worse off than I was before I got lash extension. I should have just trimmed them myself but didn't know how that would work. It's a really cute shop, the appointment was easy to schedule online and and the owner is very nice. That got it two stars.
