5/2/13: Purchased 2 mattress sets (total paid $3060.15) from Ashley and decided to cancel my order. Their cancellation policy states you must cancel 72 hours prior to delivery to avoid being charged the delivery fee which I did. Unfortunately, I need to grab the 4 free pillows $19.00 (special offer with any mattress purchase over $698.00) and mattress pads from my home. The road to my home was closed due to an accident. So I was unable to get the pillows and mattress pads from my home and make it to the store before they closed at 8 pm. So I decided to go to the store despite having the items to ensure I would not be charged the delivery fee. I explained to the Manager why I did not have the items. He said okay, you can bring them another day. I left the store under the impression my money was being refunded based off the fact I signed credit receipt to return the money to my bank account and our conversation. I noticed yesterday when checking my bank account the money was not refunded to my account. I said (to myself) I would address it today (5/8/13) when I return the mattress pads and pillows because I understand it takes some companies a little longer than other companies to refund your money.
5/8/13: The Manager informed me they did not refund my money to my card due to the fact I still had the free gift...pillows worth $19.00 each. I said if that was the case you could have held the $80.00 for the pillows and you knew I still had to return the mattress pads. Why didn't you state that before I left the store or call and say something instead of holding all my money. You could have called and said we are going to hold the $80.00 for the pillows and return the rest to your bank card. Despite how bad I want to buy accent pieces from Ashley Furniture I would never do business with this SHADY company again.
