The Calgary Headache Assessment and Management Program (CHAMP) is affiliated with the Chronic Pain Centre and I would not bother with CHAMP unless all you are interested in is access to workshops (which realistically, you could probably find online yourself or through one of the Primary Care Networks). Your doctor refers you and you get admitted into the program right away BUT then you wait and wait and wait to see a specialist (which I'm not convinced ever actually happens). In the meantime, you get the run around from the clinic (it's almost impossible to find anyone to ask questions to) who ultimately refer you back to your family doctor who tells you to be patient and who won't refer you to any specialists because you're in CHAMP, and more back and forth. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time; you are better off asking your doctor for a referral to a private clinic for an MRI and then onto specialists, at least you might have some control over your care.
