| - I purchased my wedding dress here at the beginning of 2013. Nicole the lady who helped me the first two times I went was very nice and helpful. She had great suggestions and overall was a pleasant experience. They have a great selection of dresses at competitive prices.
However, after my dress came, I had to begin dealing with Daniel, who is rude and out to scam you. After my dress arrived, I went to try it on and also pick out a belt. He told me that if I did not pay the 20% rush fee, the belt would not be in on time even though the wedding was more than 3 months away. He was very pushy and told me that even with the rush fee it will take 2.5 months to get it. In my ignorance I paid this rush fee which amounted to over $60. They told me that they will call me as soon as the belt came in. A month later, I went to pick up my dress and I also inquired about the belt. Another lady who worked there told me that if the belt had come they would have called me. I asked her to check just in case. Sure enough the belt was there, they just had not called me. If the belt came in less than a month, surely I should not have paid the $60 rush fee for a wedding that was 3 months away. That was my first sign of trouble.
The alterations are done by another woman who does not actually work for the boutique, but they schedule appointments with her at the store. She did a great job of altering my dress, however she overcharged me for the bustle. I needed a 5 point bustle and she charged me as if she did a 3 point bustle and another 2 point bustle. Overall that was another $30 extra for a $300 alteration.
When paying for the alterations they also made me pay $80 ahead of time for steam ironing the dress which I was not planning on doing for another few weeks closer to the date. I should not have paid for this in advance because it caused me a lot of stress. When I tried to drop off the dress, Daniel was very rude to me, almost screaming because I had not made an appointment to drop of the dress even though he was the one that told me that I did not need one. Had I not paid ahead of time for it I would have gone somewhere else and probably spend even less money. I was very stressed about leaving the dress with him but I did not feel like I had an option since I had paid for it already.
Overall the dress itself was very nice at a reasonable price, and Nicole was very helpful. Dealing with Daniel however made me fell ripped off (overpaying for the belt) and angry (that he was rude and forced me to pay for the steam ironing ahead of time). If Daniel did not work there I would have given this place five stars.
