  • This was my second visit to The Writer's Block, and I found it even more charming than my first visit. I love the layout of the store, it's small and somewhat dark, there's natural light in the front of store from the outside. It feels cozy and welcoming. The selection of books is not your typical bookstore selection, which is nice. And then of course there are the birds, fake birds that range in price from $4-$15 I think, and there's everything from finches, pheasants, & vultures to choose from. If you buy one it comes in a carrying box with papers on the birds backstory. It's pretty entertaining, actually! The back part of the store for education, Workshops, etc, is awesome. The owner is a really laid back, kind man. Very helpful. Definitely will come & support this store whenever possible!
