I'll preface this with the fact that I know these employees are extremely overworked and underpaid for what they do, not to mention the exposure to dangerous chemicals all day. Normally I'd never go to a place that charges $12 for a manicure because I know that price goes hand in hand with low wages and poor working conditions. That said, I don't have a car and walked over to the nearest salon.
That also said, they charged me $25 for a gel manicure which is pretty on par for the industry. The results though? So, so subpar. There was a chip the first day I got them, and I write for work from home, so there's no real reason there should have been a chip.
My nails were very unevenly filed which led to even further chipping over the course of a few days. One week later and my gel manicure is jacked up. Not normal for this service.
Last but not least, the lady who worked on me was slightly rude. I said I wanted white gel nails. She insisted that white was ugly and pressured me into getting another color even after I told her I think white looks nice. I've had white gel nails before and quite liked them and received many compliments. Instead, I was highly pressured into choosing another color, which to be honest, doesn't even look good because she rushed everything and did a substandard job.
Would not recommend. They earned one star but I always feel bad leaving those unless it was truly an awful experience. Two stars is generous.
