Wow! I loved BG Bistro in every way including the "Nu Pagadi" cartoons from my childhood constantly playing on the two TV screens. I was greeted in Bulgarian and felt immediately at home.
The food menu is short and simple and every item looked delicious. I could have easily closed my eyes, pointed my finger on the menu and would have been pleased with whatever it landed on. My party ordered tarator(cold cucumber soup), shopska salad, chuski buirek, kiufteta with cabbage and luteniza, kavarma, palachinki and espresso. Everything was excellent and home cooked. The tarator was my favorite. The owner came to the table to check on us and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous.
They have done an excellent job at splitting the restaurant in a smoking and non-smoking section. I loved, loved, loved the Bulgarian themed pictures especially with our national hero Vasil Levski and the sacred world famous Rila monastery. I am so proud to be Bulgarian!!! Thank you for this authentic Bulgarian experience. I feel less homesick now.
I will definitely visit this restaurant every time I come to Las Vegas! Bravo! Hvala! Blagodarya!
