We decided to make our own wine before getting married, and perhaps give some of the bottles away later as xmas gifts when the time comes. Our wedding went well, the wine was excellent, and we've been drinking the wine casually at home regularly. Also gave one of the bottles to my mother-in-law.
As service goes, I could not be happier with the help at the Millwood Wine Works. They answered all of our questions and concerns, and being fans of wine tours in Niagara we had our fair share of questions. It was fascinating being a part of the wine making process, especially for me since my grandfather used to make wine, but I had never witnessed him go through the winemaking process so it was very interesting to see it being done and being part of the winemaking process and later the bottling process. (I really enjoyed the corking machine. That was fun.)
We are now saving all of our used bottles and are making plans to make another batch of wine sometime. As a woodworking project I am also building a wine rack, so that is an added bonus. I complained recently at a "Wine Rack" on Yonge Street that they should also sell wooden "wine racks" that are made here in Ontario, and the ladies in the store liked that idea. Perhaps the Millwood Wine Works should also consider selling wine racks too? After all it is handy having a place to store all of the wine once you have it.
