| - Yeah... remember when I said we would never go back...? Even if we had free passes...?
I guess I lied... :(
We had some friends treat us to a night out, and this was their choice for the evenings activities.
Let's start with just entering the lobby. You had this huge mob of people, with no real purpose of just standing there. They weren't trying to get tickets. They weren't trying to get in. They weren't being escorted or organized by any of the staff, to actually allow people to enter the doors.
Once we made it past the crowd, and found a kiosk to get our prepaid tickets, now what? You had a line over here for one "status" of movie goers... and another line over there for the "regular" people?? What is this place??? Some kind of Scottsdale VIP 20-something nightclub...??
In one corner, you have a make shift bar, with 20 or so people piled on top of each other trying to get a buzz on before they hit the movies??
Up front, you have the concession stand, that has yet another divide. The regular people here... the "better" people over there. We are talking about getting popcorn and a soda, right!?!? C'mon... it's just silly.
In the other corner, oh that's where you actually get your drink. If you want ice, apparently that's not an option. All 3 self serve machines were out of ice.
Did I mention the place was just as clean as the Desert Ridge location? Popcorn everywhere.... dried up sticky soda spills around the machines and on the machines.... Even if someone actually wanted to throw something away, it would be a waste of time. Every trash can from the lobby to theater #5 was overflowing.
And who has the same movie scheduled on multiple screens, AT THE SAME TIME!?!? There must have been at least 3 groups of people that got into it because each thought the other were in their reserved seats. Yes, there can be some fault on the movie goer and not reading their stub. But how about eliminate that but just spacing the start time out? 8...815...830.... or 3 screens all starting at 8. Hmm, which is best for our customers???
Please... AMC management... at least pretend to care about your locations. Catch up to Harkins on the customer experience, and stick to featuring movies and stop trying to be a night club. Especially in a shopping mall location... cmon!
