  • If you've never been to Hash House, consider as Claim Jumper 2.0. It's a little newer and the menu's a bit more refined. The portions are comically large, and the clientele tends to be the type of people who aren't particularly interested in portion control. A lot of older people seem to enjoy this place. That's not a bad thing, but it's a great place to bring your parents. I had previously eaten at other Hash House locations and had a decent experience. How this location has the same menu, there seems to be something up with the running of this place. First, there are a lot of people. It's a popular place, so there's a line. But to me that's not the issue. There were only two of us, so we only waited about 10 minutes. But ten we sat there another 40 minutes waiting for our food. The fact we both ordered salads makes the wait even more ridiculous. When the food did come, that was the last we saw of our waitress for a while. Occasionally she would wonder by assuring us we're doing ok. Not once were we offered a refill during our meal. It was only after the plates were being cleared did the waitress ask if we wanted deserts or another drink. It's a shame the service sucks, because it's decent food and nice restaurant. I'm assuming right now there's so much business the management doesn't much care about the service level. I'm guessing they'll care a bit more in a year or so when the novelty of being new wears off. Update: I'm going to update this to a 1 star review. The food is good, but there is sincerely something wrong with the service. Every time I go, I seem to run into a different problem. And DO NOT attempt take out. In the half a dozen times we've tried this, there has never been a time they have got it right. Every time requires me to go back there and get something they left out. And they genuinely don't concern themselves about this. The manager is about as apathetic as can be. Decent food, but if you can try difference location. Not sure what's going on, but there's just something that prevents these guys from getting it right.
