| - I just want to note that I am not one for complaining, but I am EXTREMELY PEEVED at this place, to put it nicely.
I had taken my son here for his first hair cut, and we really liked it. We thought the movies and the kid friendly seats were a really great distraction to keep him occupied while he got his hair cut. (He is a year old)
So when it was time for his hair to be cut again, I figured I would take my five year old daughter to get hers cut also since it would be easier to get them both done at the same time.
They have an appointment at 12pm and my daughter goes first, while she is getting her hair cut my son gets called back. I stand next to him pretty much the whole time since he is younger and the lady cutting my daughters hair says that my daughter asked to have her hair curled. This is fine and expected as she normally has it curled at the other place I usually take her to. I say that it's fine and the lady tells me okay, but it will be "an extra charge".
TYPICALLY when someone says "extra charge", its a minimal price. Otherwise they would tell you HOW MUCH the "extra charge" is.
When the kids are done, my son is antsy and getting fussy, so im just trying to get out of that place. I get to the register and the lady tells me that my total is $58!
FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS?! But at that point I was kind of overwhelmed and so i paid and left. But in the car on my way home I just kept questioning it and thought they had to of charged me incorrectly, so i called to make sure. The lady tells me that on top of the 15 dollar hair cut, she charged me an ADDITIONAL 25 dollars to curl her hair.
WHAT!
That seems pretty crazy to me.
I talked to several friends and family members who all said the same thing. That price was outrageous. I was urged to call back and speak to the manager.
So I call back and the OWNER refuses to compensate anything, doesn't offer me anything, just continues to tell me how long my kid's hair is.
She then tells me that "When she had her wedding, her hair cost her 65 dollars."
Uhm, What? What does your grown woman, wedding hair, have to do with my FIVE YEAR old, saturday afternoon hair?
She then tells me that the girl who curled her hair said that it took her forty five minutes to do the curls.
I know for a FACT this is false, because our appointment was at noon, and I checked my phone for the time that I called them in the car on my way home and I had called at 12:48. So we were in there for less than 45 minutes, including waiting for her to be called, and for paying the bill.
The owner made me more upset since she refused to help me. She told me that "if she were to give me my money back, then she would have to give money back to everyone who has had their hair curled."
Which is ridiculous.
If you are going to charge THAT much, then you need to SAY how much youre charging. Not just say "extra charge", so that the customer can be blindsided at the register.
We will not be returning, which is disappointing since we really enjoyed having my son come here. So they have lost both of my children as customers AS WELL AS my friends two boys, all based on my experience.

First off, I spoke to a woman on the phone, both times that I had called.
As I had stated in my review above, my daughter typically gets her hair curled when she gets it cut. This was the first time having it done at your establishment. Obviously, I have not had a problem with the price of having her hair done before at other locations.
Also, "to be fair", when an "extra charge" costs more than the price of the initial service (haircut), it needs to be disclosed.
And to tell me that I basically need to educate myself on salon prices is beyond poor customer service, especially coming from the Owner.
