This location is only a minute from my house, but I always drive to another store. Sometimes even Walmart (eep!). Twice now, I've set my basket down and given up, it's just that bad.
First, the good.
The cashiers are always excellent. Friendly, efficient, and experienced. And the customers are pretty good as well. No drunks, etc.
Now the bad.
The prices are significantly higher than the rest of the North Valley. I can (and do) shop at Whole Foods in north Scottsdale for the same price I pay here.
The selection of food is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I once took a friend (a professional chef) through, just to figure out what the problem was. They just don't have any food we'd actually eat. You get halfway through putting a recipe together, and find out they don't have some very basic ingredients. Their produce is basic, and unimpressive. They may as well not have a deli.
