| - We waited an hour for our food, the free wifi wasn't working, they ran out of the desserts I wanted, and the fro-yo machine was busted for a bit. All of that being said, I still officially love this place. I've been to Nando's in Vancouver, but never to one out east. It's also been a few years since I've had Nando's chicken in general.
First off, it's gorgeous inside. I've been waiting for this location to open for months now. For the longest time all I saw was construction equipment and loose wires inside whenever I walked by. Walking was like WOW. Secondly, this is already a really popular spot. It was packed inside and the line up almost went out the door for ordering. Luckily dining in wasn't full, so I got a table with my friends right away.
When we went up to order we were told that it would be an hour wait for our food. If this were any other establishment I would've been pissed, but I've been craving Nando's for a while. Sadly the free wifi wasn't working, which isn't really a big deal since not all restaurants have it anyway. It just would've made the wait time go by much faster is all.
Food: awesome, juicy chicken. Just the way I remember it. Decent sized portions for a great price. They also added new items to the menu since I've been, including desserts. I was upset that they ran out of both cheesecake and chocolate cake (my 2 faves), but I tried the carrot cake and it was fantastic. I don't normally like carrot cake, but this one wasn't too sweet. It might be one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had.
Lastly, they have bottomless pop and juice. There's a machine with a touch screen that allows you to choose from over 100 drinks. It's just a $2.49 flat rate and you can have as much as you want. Same goes with the fro-yo machine. $3.99 flat rate and take as much as you want.
