This is a gem of a place in the midst of crazy, cheap gambling. Make a reservation - the place fills up, especially on a Sat night.
Place was packed - lots of diners ordering $35 steaks, escargot, and $15 sashimi. The lamb chops were particularly good - for $37. perfectly cooked and tasty. No gamey smell or taste for the lamb.
We also ordered the whole fried snapper - was told it was good, but it was way over cooked and dry. Meat was tough and hard, I wouldn't order it again for that reason. It was pricey at $55, thought it would be worth it. Meh.
Buffalo mozzarella was large enough to share with the whole table - mozzarella - excellent, though a little drowned in balsamic.
Miso butter fish was the best dish - black cod was marinated perfectly and very tasty.
Ambiance is loud, tables are very close to each other but the butterfish and lamb chops were worth it.
We were almost too full to have dessert so only ordered plain vanilla ice cream, it came with marinated pineapple.
We would return again - a good meal without driving very far if ou stay downtown. If you drive. Parking is by valet only unless you park somewhere else and walk in.
