| - You know the phrase "like a kid in a candy shop"? This place defines that expression. So many kids- so much candy.
I am not one who is big into sweets. I like salty snacks, and red meat, personally. My girlfriend, on the other hand, has quite the sweet-tooth (as I'm given to understand is standard with many girlfriends). We had to make a trip to Cannonsburg recently, and aside from an underwhelming statue of Perry Como (nothing against him, I think the statue should be bigger is all) Sarris Candies is the only exciting thing we found here.
The ice cream parlor is long and big, with a lot of people working on a Saturday afternoon/evening. The line was really long, but they have perfected the art of moving patrons through the process of ordering and checking out. The only problems I had with this part of the place were that there are almost too many options (even with the line as long as it was, it moved quickly enough that my usually decisive girlfriend was unprepared for her order.) Also... a word to the wise: ONE SCOOP OF ICECREAM IS A LOT. I got two and could not finish both.
The candy store itself would make even a non-diabetic want to shoot up with insulin before heading in. The place is a magical wondrous kingdom of candy, sugar, chocolate and dreams.
Sugar free candy and chocolate is also available... Get some gummy bears, add some vodka (IFF you are 21 or over).
This place is great!
