This was my first time to the Ostrich festival so I had no idea what to expect
A good tip for people would be to take cash, haha
I didn't take any cash from me and the small amount of cash that I did have went to the shady $5 parking fee
The parking lot area could have it's own Yelp page but that is a whole nother' story haha
The festival itself was OK
Entry was $10
There were numerous events going on and there was a schedule for each event
However some events were cancelled, which were a bummer
I did get to catch the evening Ostrich Races and those were pretty cool
There was a lot of food vendors and most of them took cash, I obviously didn't take this into consideration, but I wasn't about to shell out a ton of money while at this event...
I felt really bad for the Ostriches and the other animals that were on site for viewing and petting... the animals in the tent were all getting attacked by flies and some of the babies were covered in flies... It was not a good sight...
I know that Ostriches can be dangerous but they were kept in 2 huge fences...
PETA would be all over this event haha
All in all, it was a pretty OK event and I am not sure if I would go back but it was a fun experience... It is a great experience for children but make sure to take an umbrella or sun screen as there is very minimal shade...
The highlight of the event was the family oriented dare devil show... It was very theatrical and very death-defying...
There was one man that was shot out of a cannon and went a good ways to his landing net... it was really cool...
