| - Mine will be a unique review as my car was *not* repaired by Service King. You'd have to get an estimate for that. So, a little story:
On my way home from work, I passed by and Eureka - and I thought to myself... "Dang! They're open. I'll make a quick U-turn and have them give me an estimate on fixing my gouged bumper and dent in the hood [about 5" inches to be specific, from a baseball" I just wanted to see how much I'd be in for. Nothing major. Cash out of my pocket, just bring my vehicle back up to snuff in the beauty department.
I whip in, smile on my face and greeted everyone with a big Hello. I walked up to the desk and after a little small talk ask "Hey - I'd like someone to take a quick look at my vehicle to give me a round-about estimate." No other customers in the store, just me along with the 2 receptionists, one guy in the far left corner, and two other guys over on the far right of the lobby.
(((Yeah, I know "Give me a quick estimate..." is what everyone says when it ends up being 2 hours later. BUT, they saw me pull up. I pointed at my vehicle when I asked for the estimate.)))
- "Do you have an appointment?"
- "Uh, no. Do I need an appointment to have someone look at it?"
- "Yes."
My vehicle was not towed in. It was never asked "What type of damage do you have?" (QUESTION #1 that should have been asked!) The only thing they are concerned with is what is convenient for THEIR time schedule, not the customers. [READ other reviews - obviously, they have NO concept of what 'Time' is when it comes to representing information to the customer or even completing a job on time.] ALL it would have took in ONE minute for someone to walk out and look. Hey, if it was a big job and they state "This is a bigger estimate that I have time for can you make an appointment and bring it back?" I'm good with that. GOOD customer service move. But to turn someone away when all you're concerned with is if the request fits YOUR schedule, then MY schedule and most importantly - MY MONEY - go walking. It's called "Hooking the customer". Get the process started so the customer has a vested interest in coming back.
Would I go back? No!
Why? I don't care if you're the BEST place in town and you do flawless work, because;
As Thomas Edison is oft attributed with saying, "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration."
You may put 99% of your effort into a great product - for which I can not rate of this business. But, the 1% which makes the lasting impact is the first impression of customer service. And to that specific aspect of the business I *can* rate. And they rate: FAIL!
