  • I just got a job and needed to relocate to Phoenix from Tucson very quickly. I was given a lockbox code to look at an apartment and I ended up really liking the apartment so I paid the $200 deposit (the place was by the Children's Hospital). I waited 5 days for the manager of the apartment to return from her vacation so I could call and move along with the rental process. She then said, "Who gave you the lockbox code?! Why did they take your money?! This apartment has already been promised to someone else!" I had to drive back up to Mesa to get my money back and frantically look for an apartment. I ended up moving to Maryvale...
