| - I passed by Funk Factory and was super intrigued by the unassuming exterior. I wasn't sure what a "geuzeria" was, but some Internet research told me that "Funk Factory is focused on the traditional production of Lambic and Lambic derived products such as Geuze," thus, geuzeria! Further research told me that lambics are a particular style of sour beers, and the only type that are brewed at Funk Factory.
The interior is dark and trendy... Minimalist and utilitarian with local art posted on the walls. It's a pretty intimate space with plenty of bar space and seating.
To be honest, lambics aren't my favorite, although I would be willing to try more at Funk Factory. I tried one and after my face puckered beyond recognition, I opted for the Working Draft IPA on tap that I was more comfortable with. If you're not a lambic fan, this would be a great place to have the opportunity to try several to see if there's one for you! There was also a stout on tap from a different brewery, as well as several bottled options.
Overall, I would venture back into Funk Factory if someone was in a sour mood (hehe), but I may not go out of my way to seek it out again, just because it's not my taste. If you're in the neighborhood, check it out!
