| - Walked in to drop of Buick with fuel leak issue. Service person at desk noted system was down and took information from me. Wrote down my number clearly. He said later he'd put everything in the system and call me with an estimate. Five hours later I call and get the excuse from the manager that "I thought it was a 7 in your phone number and we couldn't reach you, oh, by the way, it's $200+ just to look at it" A few hours later, another call back, "Yeah, you've got a crack and it'll be a week and $1,400 for a replacement fuel tank." Can't afford this, so I ask if tank can be put back in, because I still need vehicle, leak or not. "Sorry, you'll have to wait until tomorrow because we don't have time."
They are still open for two more hours.
UPDATE*****
Kim from the location called me and went into detail about what is going on with the truck. She went a step further and looked for used tanks and found some. Instead of $1400 for a new tank, looking at $400 for used, which is something I can live with. She also was very helpful in explaining the expected costs and was willing to make the diagnostic fee go away because of all the miscommunication. That was greatly appreciated and well above what she had to do.
Thank you again, Kim.
