| - This trip to Vegas, my casino-home was just a few blocks from here, so I did spend quite some time wandering Fremont Street and enjoying the experience. The area is awesome.
While walking the few block distance of the Fremont Experience I saw a lot of things. I experienced quite a lot of things. There's a way cool play to throw axes in there. There's a way cool arcade in there. There's a couple of casinos with dynamite buffets and fun stuff to do in there. There's a place to get fake-married. There's probably a place to get actually married. There are lots of shops and stores where you can buy touristy things...or tattoos. There's also the zipline that goes the whole length of the place. I enjoyed the screams of joy, delight and/or terror every so often zipping thirty feet over my head.
In between some of the casinos, there are stages set up, where bands of all types play and entertain the crowds of meandering people. Also, much like the Hollywood & Highland area, there are street performers, dressed up in assorted costumes, taking photos for tips.
At night, every hour or so, the streets running through the area get shut down, the lights dim and the entire ceiling lights up and plays music. Videos of the bands they're playing. It's a giant four or so block long screen. I think it also shows your tweets or instagrams if you tag certain things.
But caution. The streets aren't closed forever. Once the show is over, the lights come back on, and the streets open up again. If you happen to get caught in the middle of the street attempting a 360 degree photo without people and/or cars. People will honk at you and scare your bejesus right out. I know that from personal experience.
This is an awesome place. I loved walking up and down this area so very much. So much to see. So much to enjoy and experience. Definitely see it and wander it if you've got the time.
