  • Snotty and pretentious. I say don't bother stopping at this joint. I arrived about 90 minutes before close, as a walk-in. There is a big banner out front stating "Walk-ins Welcome." I found the receptionist, a 20ish blonde kid, not behind the reception desk where she was being paid by the owner to be, but rather lounging at a manicure station next to it, her feet propped up on the table, reclining and - of course - swiping her finger up and down her iPhone. I said "Good evening, I am a walk-in." She gets up and goes to the receptionist desk, puts her hands on the keyboard and says "Do you have an appointment?" Oh great, another one of those puerile employees whose brain does not shift out of slumber-mode until you repeat something thrice. (Seems I find those kinda folk at drive-thru restaurant order-boxes pretty regular.) I say, "I just mentioned that I am a walk-in." She says, "Well it's less than an hour before close and everyone is booked up. Would you like to make an appointment for sometime next week?" I wanted to say "Well now do you THINK I'd like that sometime-next-week $hit?" But I bite my lip and instead just say "No thanks." That's met with silence. Customer says no, so brain back in slumber-mode. No polite niceties here for Walk-In Wanda. As I turn and walk out, I can see the receptionist returning to park her @ss where I found it, so she can go back to reclining and swiping. Ok, you've seen this kind of joint before, whether it is hair, nails or whatever. I know I've dealt with them before, and more than once. Each of the stylists/technicians have their own full book of sappy-happy, big-tipper clients, and so they are all full of themselves. Clients and employees, well it's like one big closed-door sorority house. Accordingly, the whole place cops a poop-don't-stink attitude whenever a barbarian turns up at the gate. (And the instant it's clear to them you ain't gonna make pledge at the house, your service goes straight down to $hit.) Perhaps they think I should be willing to wait to be graced with their heavenly appearance until 'maybe' sometime next week - but the fact is there's plenty of excellent salons all over the big city, and they actually WANT walk-in business, so you know what, I'll just go to one of those instead, OK with you princess? There's also a sticker on the door that says "Best of Las Vegas 2015." Maybe - but they sure didn't win it in the category of receptionist. UPDATE: a 2017-07-27 review by Yelper Jillian S actually calls out the receptionist - by name - and also called her snotty. So you are forewarned that salon management has absolutely no intention of addressing the matter. Management apparently likes things just the way they are. My bet is that you won't.
