| - We used to stay here when we worked and had conventions, but it's been awhile, and it's now a Wyndham. We booked through Travelzoo and got a good deal. We didn't want to pay for valet parking as I never trust my car with someone else. There is a lot across the street which was $20 for a Saturday night stay.
Check in was easy and our room on the 6th floor seemed clean. We went out to dinner and were back by 9:30. As we sat there, we could hear dogs barking......loudly. We called the front desk and they said they were absolutely a pet friendly hotel and dogs were kept on the lower floors. We asked if they could locate the room and get the dogs quieted down. After 45 minutes, it only got louder. My husband went to the lobby and asked for a new room. We packed up and went to the 20th floor, where there were lots of parties going on. We got to our room and found it smelling of cigarette smoke (they told us it is a non smoking hotel). My husband went back down and got keys to yet another room on the 24th floor. The room was clean and QUIET.
Back to the dogs. Apparently someone left 2 large dogs in the room and went out for the evening. It was 2 floors below us, but it sounded like right down the hall. I love dogs, but don't want them near me in a hotel, nor do I want to stay in a room where a dog has stayed.
In the morning we stopped at the coffee shop for a bagel and coffee. Not sure it was really a Starbucks or if they just sold Starbucks coffee. Anyway, they don't know how to toast a bagel, it was awful. The worker took a break after our order and we ended up telling over 8 customers that she took a break. Who leaves a coffee shop in the morning when people want coffee. Poor management.
I wanted to like this place as we now come to town once a month and I like the location, but I will be looking elsewhere.
