  • Harrahs is a dated mid grade casino, attached to a classic LV mid grade hotel. A Total Rewards/Caesars/Harrahs site. It's bigger than it looks, the table games area of the casino floor is close to the strip and, like the rest of the place, gets a lot of walk-in traffic. There are huge areas to play slots and plenty of bars and restaurants. As others mention, it is in a very good central strip location. . The sidewalk crossing several entrances invites lots of walk-in traffic. For the past couple of years, with the construction on The Quad and Linq, the sidewalk in front of Quad has been poorly lit and one of those plywood makeshift tunnels going into the first lane of the road. This makes for a pretty sketchy area late night between Harrahs and Quad. You just feel the energy get darker and there are several pimps & obvious sexworkers harrassing you like Midway carnies at a travelling fair. I'm not anti sexworker or judging anyone; I don't make this stuff up I only report the news. Rooms are decent, not swanky but not divey either. Our biggest issue this trip was a dirty iron that ruined Bobby's shorts on the first day. It was replaced promptly. We didn't need the mini bar so I asked about a fridge instead. Was quoted $15, then $20 daily. We passed and used Bobby's leaky 6-pack sized cooler. This created some other issues, but that's another story. Oddly, there was not a vent/fan in our bathroom. When you're bunking with Army buddies, this can be an issue. I'm just sayin'. I spent some hours in the poker room and Bobby actually liked the sports book. One of the better SB's for drinks and great service, but the screens aren't as HD-licious as, say, Venetian. And if someone has a cigar nearby fuggetaboutit. There isn't wifi, but ethernet cable for internet. Really? In 2014? C'mon Harrahs, you can do better than that. We always have fun at Harrahs properties and I would come back. If Kitten comes with me we'd spring for an upgrade to the room or maybe stay at Paris again or Caesars or somewhere. We could enjoy Flamingo. Love that old Bugsy vibe there and some of the remodeled rooms are pretty decent. Kitten's not meant to slum it the way I do sometimes.
