| - If u have to travel & its personal u might try to save a few bucks here & there so u can spend more of food or a car or some activity. But when u travel on business then the SKY is the limit & the limit is the sky...RIGHT? Or at least the limit is ur per diem.
So I'm going to a conference & class & its in Phoenix. Phoenix not being anywhere special the hotel per diem was pretty low BUT since I was with the conference & THAY pick a FAN-TAB-LOUS place to stay we got a discount & I got my points. WOOHOO! A win-win for me.
THIS PLACE IS a little like HEAVEN ON EARTH! Ok it's in the dessert but it is situated just across the street from SEVERAL EATERIES, movies, shops, banks, STARBUCKS, freeway, a few minutes from Scottdale where there are MORE eateries, movies, shops, car dealers, etc. Let's face it If I DON'T have to be TRAPPED in a HOTEL & my company is PICKING up the bill for the car & gas & FOOD within reason then RYAN IS GOING to get out & do something else other than eat hotel food & swim in a pool.
That being said u REALLY DON'T WANT or HAVE to leave the hotel grounds because they have JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING u could NEED!
Let's start with this PLACE IS GI-NORMOUS. There is an ENTIRE side dedicated for meeting rooms, & banquet halls to have ANY SMALL or LARGE function. The other half is ALL ROOMS, guest laundry, ice, STARBUCKS, large gift shop, a SPA, exercise room, SEVERAL POOLS, a lazy river, cu-cuzies, lounge chairs, a small island to just relax, several places inside/outside around the property to REALX, sgoodies start flowing around mid-morning & are put out on tables in the lobby & by check in/out, infused water & regular water, 2 restaurants, a HUGE BAR & lounge area, & EMPLOYEES that are SUPER DUPER PLEASANT & HAPPY TO SERVER ur needs!
The rooms are great! I'm a Elite member so I changed my room to be as far AWAY for the elevator, & ice machine as humanly possible because I'm a light sleeper. The rooms come with robes, safe, HUGE bathrooms, SEVERAL HANGERS & not the standard 2-3, sofa, tv, iron & ironing broad, nice size balconies, desk & all the normal accoutrements.
Now the spa for me was AGAIN FREE my FAV F-word because I'm an elite member. The Spa had massages, a special workout room for different classes they offer for FREE, private pool so NO ONE under 16 was allowed. It was also away from all the NOISE & ankle biters that were screaming. There was a men/ women sides. The locker room had lockers, robes, slippers, hair products, showers, bathroom, & all the toiletries u'd need. There was also a wet/dry sauna. If u missed one of the classes they offer u can play one on the television & still get in ur aerobics, yoga, etc. The exercise room was 24 hours & if u forgot something there was a special SPA gift shop u could get thing at.
The parking lot was HUGE but if u didn't want to walk they had valet. U could pay a bit more & park right in front. The food was SIMPLY DELISH! I thought being a veggie eater I'd certainly starve during the day because just wouldn't have enough veggie options. I WAS WORNG! They had SEVERAL veggie, vegan, pescatarian & meat eater options. Annnd AMAZING DESSERTS, coffee, water, tea, etc! Breakfast was also buffet & we were told it would be continental but they had everything except hot food. I've never seen some many breads & muffins, several cold cereals, milk, juice, FRESH FRUIT, yogurt with toppings. They even did snacks.
Staff was AMAZING so much so every time I saw a manager or someone in a halls I would stop & tell them so. I had an issue with the wifi & asked if they could send someone up & a few minutes later they arrived. My company had some block setting so she called the hotel IT dept who were SUPER FRIENDLY & they helped me out. Then as the IT lady was leaving she left me a $5 STARBUCKS gift card just to say sorry u had a hard time with the wifi!
SIMPLY MAG-NI-FI-CENT, FIRCKIN FAB-U-LOUS! Plus Bunny got to come out & spend the weekend with me again ON the company we just needed to stay within our per diem. Pretty easy to do. We would totally come back here & I DON'T usually like hotels AT ALL! This one made a BELIEVER OUTTA ME & I GOT some MAJOR points racked up. WOOHOO!
