Came for Afternoon Tea on a Sunday. It was a full house around 12:30 but fairly quiet. Very nice, clean and comfortable place with natural lighting, perfect for chatting. Good value at $28 for a tea set with choice of tea or syphon coffee. Must make reservations as it's a small space with limited seating.
We started off sampling (smelling) the tea selection. I found most of them to be on the fruity side and my friend and I ended up choosing the Black Currant and Honey Fig. I usually dislike fruity teas but these were good, not too overpowering.
Savories:
- Grilled Cheese Sandwich on garlic toast
- Mushroom Bun
- Tuna sandwich (sliced baguette)
- Plain & (lavender?) Earl Grey scone - so fluffy and light. The texture is almost like a muffin. I love it paired with the slightly sweet butter. It was so unique that I bought one to take home (luckily they had 2 available)
Sweets:
- Matcha cheesecake (no base) - on the bitter side, with a similar feeling on the teeth as when you eat spinach
- Earl grey mousse in a chocolate cup - I liked this chocolate
- Lychee/Floral jello (forgot the name)
The desserts are definitely suitable for the Asian palate. Attention to detail and very refined. They are made with their teas and you can definitely taste it.
Overall, worth a try. My favorites were the tea, earl grey scone and butter.
