| - This feels like one of the older supermarkets my parents would take me to as a kid in the Alhambra area, before 99 Ranch started dominating. The building itself feels older and muskier, probably from decades of sea food and Chinese herb products. The prices are still very reasonable, and there's always good specials on imported food products. I come here every once in a while to replenish my bamboo shoots, canned fried gluten, dried pork products, pickled cucumber, hot sauce, and whatever else looks good for my congee I make quite often. They also have a great selection of fish and cheap Asian vegetables, though I don't come out here specifically for that. Koreatown is closer but for Chinese imported products, it's a toss up between here and 99 Ranch.
Ample parking, decent prices but feels kind of musky. If you want a better selection and variety in a newer place, 99 Ranch a mile away is a better go to, but if you know what you want, this will do just fine.
