  • I popped into Stylegarage to kill some time while waiting for a table for brunch. This place is groooovy. It's a modestly sized store but well-stocked with furniture. The emphasis here seems to be on very clean and modern pieces. Lots of cool greys and dark colours, hot-rolled steel and natural wood. I really dug the concrete-topped coffee tables and they have pretty much everything else you need for urban living: sectional sofas, smart-sized beds, unique lighting, stools and benches, and of course, hand-carved deer heads. All the furniture is made-to-order which is a boon for the heterogenous dwelling types found in this city. If you're impatient, you can get ready-to-go pieces at their Gus Studio next door. Though I didn't buy anything on my visit, I will be sure to stop here next time I need something original and Canadian-made. Definitely worth a visit for the new home owner/apartment dweller in Toronto. Obligatory Title Pun: All we hear is/furniture GA-GA. Menu Readability: I need to know who writes all the price tags here. Amazing printing. Need to mention: This place is kind of pricy, bro. What this place teaches me about myself: I like chunky coffee tables. (What? Not all my personal revelations are hilarious.)
