  • Researching tattoo artists before my recent trip to Vegas, I found Living Dead Tattoo online and in particular loved Jonny Lowlife's work. I wanted a sugar skull, and he does them better than anyone I've seen. So we took a cab over to the shop and met with Jonny. Though he initially said it would take some time to create the line drawing, when we mentioned that we would be in town for only 5 days, he said he'd make it work - and he did. He came into the shop on his day off to ink me and my dad, was flexible when my dad requested an additional design at the last minute, and even brought me back a drink from his Taco Bell run. Seriously, could I ask for more than this? His work is completely amazing, so it's no surprise that the guys at the Moto Cafe next door all seem to have been inked by him. As he worked, the fellow artists and friends chatted with us and made the time fly (2.5 hrs for my tat, around 1 for my dad's). One even gave us a ride back to our hotel on the Strip (I'm sorry that I never caught your name!). I'd give Living Dead a 100 if I could. My tattoo is gorgeous (I'm almost positive my coworkers' jaws hit the floor when they saw it today), the guys (and gal!) at the shop are incredibly friendly, and Jonny Lowlife went over and above the call of duty. No doubt I'll be traveling back to Vegas soon to have Jonny ink me again. If you're traveling to Vegas and looking for good ink, ignore the big-name shops on the Strip associated with celebs (high prices and crap work) and instead take a cab to Living Dead. Update: Johnny is no longer at Living Dead. He's now at his own shop outside of Vegas.
