Honestly, our experience at Urgent Care Extra was terrible.
I brought my boyfriend in because he was having terrible pain near his appendix. When we walked in, we had to say hello before the front desk receptionist even looked up to acknowledge us.
When we told her about his symptoms she said they don't have anyone on staff to operate an ultrasound machine and if we wanted we could get an x-ray done, but then they'd probably have to refer us to the emergency room anyway. I'm pretty sure you can't really identify appendix issues with an x-ray. I asked her if we should just go to the emergency room if they were only going to refer us and she just shrugged her shoulders and told us to wait while she found a PA. She disappeared for a couple of minutes came back and told us the exact same thing and just looked at us blankly.
We decided to just leave and go to the Banner Health Emergency Room, we were in and out within half and hour and their PA came in checked my boyfriend and determined he had a hernia within five minutes of looking at him, then preceded to give us the steps to schedule surgery. No ultrasound or x-ray needed.
The front desk receptionist is your first impression when you go in pretty much anywhere. If I rated the place by that alone I wouldn't have given them ANY stars. The only positive I can give is that the lobby was clean. It's important to educate your staff to answer general questions-- to offer an x-ray was completely unnecessary and would've just been a waste to pay for. Poor customer service overall and we left pretty disappointed with our experience.
