I'm not sure how much longer Tin Tin's will be open. Let me start with my past experiences here.
Approx 2006-
This Asian buffet restaurant was amazing. I would literally drive from Columbia SC (an hour away) to feast at this incredible restaurant. They had an amazing made to order soup bar. Delicious soup! I would sometimes go for a second bowl. Short ribs and grilled teriyaki appetizers. Fresh sushi made in front of you and made to order if you wished. Nice salad bar and Bubble Tea tapioca to enjoy. The hot bar selections were abundant. Everything from the familiar Generals Tso's chicken to the more exotic Chicken Feet. So many choices. When we went the restaurant always was filled with about 50% Asian customers. It wasn't only "Americanized" Asian food but also authentic Asian cuisine. Service was fast, food was fresh and abundant. Fast forward to last year, 2017. We went and there were noticeable changes. Food was subpar. Still had the great soup and sushi. Service was lacking. I read others reviews that they stopped the AYCE Crab legs. I was never into them so this didn't affect me.
Last night...We drive down Park Road. Lights are on but only four cars in the lot. It was 6:30. Maybe to early for Charlottians to eat dinner and it was a Tuesday. We walk in and the bar section is completely dark. No hot bar, no sushi and NO SOUP!!! The hostess politely informed us they no longer offers the buffet during dinner hours of the week. We were saddened. We were aching for the soup.
At this point I don't see it lasting much longer. They aren't offering the buffet because people stopped eating it. I will always have fond memories of Tin Tin's of the past though.
