  • Ok we have been wanting to try Alamo Drafthouse for a while. Today it just worked out that the movie times were better to see Life of the Party at Alamo instead of Studio Movie Grill where we usually go. Not impressed and here's why... 1. The ordering system of putting a card up in the front of your table, is very ineffective. No one ever recognized we had a card up and we ended up walking out of the theater ourselves to get someone's attention. This was even after several runners walked past us. Invest in call buttons! 2. We saw a movie that had been out for a few weeks in a small theater that was no where near capacity and still we had tons of foot traffic from the servers and waiters back and forth in front of us. We def made a mistake by selecting the row where the aisle was in front. 3. The seats seem much closer than in other theaters. Kind of felt like we were all sitting on top of each other. 4. The menu was well rounded but way too expensive for theater food. 5. The most off putting thing there were all the warnings they post at the beginning of the movie. Excuse me but I dont need a bunch rules and warnings issued to me before I watch a movie I paid for. It came across super bossy and rude to us in the way it was presented. Overall we would choose to drive to Studio Movie Grill instead of returning here.
