  • This is my default Dollar/Thrifty location in Toronto. It is a bit tricky to find it even through the corporate website, so just enter the location code YTOC19 when booking - works like a charm... I never had a problem with them. The cars are not the cleanest, neither in the best shape - but at least they are always available when booking minimum a week in advance. Availability improved over the past couple of years, but is still not impressive. An important thing to keep in mind while renting from Dollar/Thrifty is that this whole chain is "el cheapo". Do not expect any sort of luxury, and you'd be ok. Even their membership card (the Blue Chip) is not issued in plastic, you are supposed to print it out after logging into your account! Can you think about something more... ehm... thrifty than that? :-) Their website leaves a lot to be desired, too. However, YTOC19 works quite well to my taste. Bookings, changes, cancellations, car upgrades - no issues, they do what they are supposed to do. I've seen people complaining because they did not know how to install a baby seat in the car and were pissed that there were no "instructions" provided for that. Ok. Wrong clients. So why not a five stars rating, if I like them so much? Well, because as money-conscious I am... apparently I am too thrifty to give away that much stars. It's like 10 pixels more moving my mouse! Just saving on that.
