| - I booked seven rooms at Bally's in the South tower for a bunch of family members. We later received email offer to upgrade to the North tower for $10 per night but we decided to stay put since it really wasn't a big deal to be in old rooms. My sister and three of her (adult) kids all got rooms in the North tower within having to pay for an upgrade, they simply got lucky! She loved her room.
I have to preface the review with, I am a VERY light sleeper and somewhat of an insomniac. Anyway...first off, the room numbering system is bizarre. Our rooms were 7033, 7036-7038 which I think is on the 20th floor, not sure. The carpeting in the hallway is very old and stretched out so there are lumps along the way. My brother got two connecting rooms for his son & family which overlooked Bills Gambling Hall and a portion of the Bellagio fountains. The room my mom and I got was #7033, which had a view of the Paris hotel, pool and Eiffel tower. We had a view of about 60% of the Bellagio fountains which was nice! The rooms were thread worn with furniture of cheapo fake walnut from the 70's-80's. The bed was a stiff but hey, the TV worked, the bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water! The bath products were Gilchrist & Soames of London but the box stated "Made in China", so don't know what's up with that. In any case the soap was very drying and the lotion was very thin. Thank goodness we both brought our own bath products! There were three lamps in the room. One on the center bed-stand, one on the dresser which actually turned on with the hall light switch. The one at the table near the window was dim, like 40/60 watt bulb and could not be used for reading. The bath room lighting was nice and bright but not comfortable to have to stand there to apply makeup. The shower was great, nice a hot! I actually asked housekeeping for three bath mats the first day and they did so only that day, I didn't want to keep asking so for the rest of the time I used two towels. (I don't like standing on cold tile while at the sink or toilet)
Now, the bad part. On Wednesday and Friday nights there is some sort of event under the Eiffel tower which I did not know about. The music was SO incredibly loud until around 3:30 a.m.!!!! Even with the a/c fan and my sound machine on it's loudest I could clearly hear the music. I could even feel the vibrations! My brother, whose room was across the hall from ours said HE even heard the music and wondered where is was coming from because he couldn't see anything going on from his window! So needless to say, I didn't fall asleep until around 4 a.m. Plus the uncomfortable bed didn't help any since I tossed and turned, never being able to get comfortable!
Overall, I liked that it had easy access to the Paris hotel. I actually liked the casino and the staff was very nice and helpful. I really didn't mind the old and ugly furnishings of the South tower, but the noise level in our particular room was unbelievable! I wouldn't stay there again.
