| - I just want to preface this review real quick: Although I am sure all of the stylists here are very talented, this review is specifically for Tanya. Anyways:
A few weeks ago, I made the mistake of going to a beauty college to get my hair done (I know, I can see your eyes rolling already... Bare with me here!). As I'm sure you already know, it was one of the sh*ttiest ideas I've ever had and the instructor/student duo who worked on me absolutely destroyed my hair. Just for a little back story, I had not had a haircut prior to this one in over 7 years. I had some pretty severe color damage and my goal was to grow it all out until I could have the damage snipped without sacrificing the way I look with long hair... I had VERY long hair.
Well, after crying for two days and doing everything I could to learn to love my now short, choppy, lopsided cut... I absolutely couldn't take it anymore. I went to yelp and I was ISO a salon with amazing reviews in the hopes that I may find one that didn't break the bank. Finally I stumbled onto the Flict page and decided to give them a call. First of all, bless their receptionist- I hit her with a million and one questions and she answered them all like an expert while making sure to stay focussed on setting my appointment. She assured me that I was in good hands with Tanya.
Upon arrival, I filled out their new client forms and helped myself to a cold beverage. The salon itself has a gorgeous, modern meets shabby-chic sort of vibe that I absolutely loved. They are located next to a super cute lagoon which can be seen from the stylist chair, definitely a bonus! All and all, I instantly felt very comfortable.
Tanya came out 5 minutes before our appointment was set to shake my hand and set me up at her station. After I told her my story she let me know that I was doing the right thing to see a professional to get me fixed up and went over exactly what her plan was for my hair. We agreed and then it was on to the shampoo bowl...
LADIES!!! I cannot stress this enough! This was the most thorough, relaxing and skillful shampoo I have ever received. I know that sounds silly, but it is so true. She even threw in a moisture lock mask (I believe) because I mentioned that the previous stylist (*scoff*) had also burned my hair with an overly hot styling iron. I swear it lasted at least 30 minutes, and I really appreciated her taking the time.
The haircut went perfectly and after she styled me up I instantly felt confident again in my appearance. All of my expectations were met.
