| - I've done a ghost/history tour in the past while visiting Charleston and absolutely loved it, so I was excited to do something similar in Charlotte. This tour was a complete bust and disappointment for my group. Truthfully, we left early because it was that bad. The only positive was that my group had purchased a Groupon, so the price was discounted.
Our tour guide was Kirsten. She was very enthusiastic, but the content and pacing was so poor. The tour is about 75 minutes, but only covers ~4 stops. So much wasted time is spent at each stop on stories about a friend's friend's friend who may or may not have witnessed some minor ghostly activity that may or may not have occurred. I also learned more about Kirsten's sister, DVD collection, husband, and personal fears/bravery then I cared for. I would say the ratio was 10% history, 10% ghost stories actually tied to the site you were at, 60% Buzzfeed-esqe urban legends, and 20% of Kirsten story-time.
Charlotte is a city with rich history, and I would have liked to have heard about that instead. I also thought we would get to see more of the city, but this tour strictly sticks to a small section of Fourth Ward.
