| - I went to Nikko for a work lunch event with a group of 8. We didn't have a reservation or anything (don't know if they take them for lunch) but we were sat immediately, and our waitron was out within a minute or two. The service was great throughout. Always quick drink refills, knowledgeable answers to questions, and generally joking and friendly.
I am certainly do not claim to be a sushi connoisseur, but I really enjoyed the couple of rolls I ordered. I went kind of vanilla on one, just getting a bagel roll, but what blew me away was the Volcano Roll. To quote the menu, "A shrimp tempura roll topped with Dynamite mix (scallops, crab, & octopus) topped with a baked spicy aioli sauce". Yum. A great amount of spice but every single flavor still came out. Some may call it complex, I just say delicious.
Nikko is also in a very good location for South Enders to walk to, and apparently things can get bumping in the evenings after the dinner crowd is winding down. I hear the lights go down and they start pumping club music and distributing Sake Bombs. Had to save those for another day though...
