  • This was a gorgeous red Ann Taylor outfit and I loved it that day, this photo shows me staying at the brand new Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore this August. Then last week I wore it to work and somehow in the car on the way to the office I was putting on liquid lipstick which I chose because it PERFECTLY matched the red in the dress, and of course I spilled it all over the dress. Not the RED part, where it would not have been noticeable as it totally matched, but of course it landed only on the white hem. So I went home at lunch, took it off and handed it to my favourite dry cleaner Susan at Masters Cleaners who examined it and realized that the lipstick ON MY LIPS somehow also came off on the dress while I was undressing, and of course it landed ONLY on the white collar...... Anyway she promised she would try her best and get the stains out. 3 days later I wanted to drive to pick up my dress but if you live in Unionville you know what a DISASTER the parking lots are.......drivers in Markham are CRAZY and I could tell you stories for hours about accidents Ive witnessed and been victim and all the dings in my car doors etc, it's a huge risk driving your car anywhere at all. So I always try to kill 2 birds with one stone and bike everyone I can. So I biked over to pick up my dress. Sure enough the amazing Susan got all the stains out and it looks perfect. I was very happy, paid, draped the dress over my back and held on tight to the hanger and biked away. By the time I got only 4 blocks away I realized my dress was not draped over my back anymore, it was snagged in the gears and COVERED in an unbelievable amount of chain grease. Which was more plentiful than normal because OF COURSE that day, after riding that same bike for 20 years, I had finally got around to re-greasing all the gears. Which are now all over the WHITE HEM of this dress. I just turned my bike around and went back to Susan who almost started crying, she was so upset. She said she will try her best but she is 99% sure the dress is garbage. Ive waited patiently for a month and I just picked up the dress and guess what- SUSAN GOT ALL THE STAINS OUT !!!!! She and her team are absolutely incredible ! Thank you Susan! PS She also does AMAZING alterations! She altered this dress for me for a very very reasonable price and it fits perfectly now. It was a very complicated job because the fabric is actually all stitched together in 1 inch wide strips. She did it perfectly, quickly, and at 1/2 the price of her competition at Markville Mall- I will NEVER go to that tailor again! Thank you Susan !!!
