| - An incident happened here at the club as it can sometimes happened. Without going into details, when it happened I had the security in knowing that the Village will take care of me. And that's exactly what happened. There were no issues and everything was taken care of promptly and professionally by the new general manager Paul who as with every other person who works at the Village, is personable, very member oriented and overall, a great guy. He is also, from what I hear, a formidable tennis player as well!
The area I can talk most about is their tennis program and honestly, I like every single pro that works here. I stand true to my admiration that when you get hired by the Village, well, it must be you're a great person.
As I mentioned from my previous review, Will is the tennis director here and you will not meet a harder working guy. I mean, this guy loves his job! It shows too because the tennis here is active and vibrant. There are a lot of events going on all the time, from cardio tennis to mixers to tournament to players getting together.
I've heard that court time can be hard to get . . . although personally, I have not found that to be the case. I think I've been lucky that I've been able to book courts for when I wanted, plus I'm lucky that I can be flexible with my time.
The pro I've had the most contact with is Mike, taking weekly clinics from him re doubles strategies. I'm a self taught tennis player learning my tennis from watching the big players on tv while growing up then going out and trying out their moves on the courts myself. It's been a treat for me to be taking lessons and I have to say, after listening to Mike and then processing what he says, I've come to understand doubles strategy better and it's been great for me. Mike is a great guy too. Very consistent in his teaching . . . I've enjoyed taking clinic from him and feel as though I have gained knowledge.
Cam is super nice too. I love seeing him out on the court. And of course, Bryan- fountain of knowledge.
I'm having a lot of fun playing a game that I love. And I'm happy there is such a supportive and good pros and players at Camelback.
What I like about Village Camelback is from the front desk to the cafe to the general manager to the tennis pros, you feel welcomed and cared for as a member. No small feat as their membership is quite large and this is the magic of the Village!
