| - 2 stars because of the service I received.
Having been to Spoon before, I know the service that I should have received. My first visit, I was very pleased with Spoon.
However, this visit was not up to par. I know I came into the restaurant 15 minutes before closing but that DOES NOT mean I should be treated any differently than another patron. The dining room had few patrons, and the hostess acted as if we were a huge imposition. After being seated, our server babbled off the specials so fast, I had to ask for a second go through. As soon as he figured out we weren't ordering alcoholic drinks, it was as if our fate was sealed.
The bread that everyone raves about was great. Except for the fact that I wasn't given any butter. I can't tell you how many times I had to ask the server for more water. I felt like I was being punished for being at Spoon.
I ordered the Octopus and truffle because I wasn't hungry enough for a full entree.
Next time, I will ask for a table that is out of view from the hostess stand because two of the servers and the hostess, stared at me while I ate.
I'm sorry that this visit, I did not spend over $500, as I did last visit. But I was a returning patron bringing back a new patron. Who has a very bad taste in his mouth about Spoon, not regarding his Rabbit, but about the way he was treated.
2 measly stars.
