| - This review is solely about our piercing experience. I was looking for a SAFE place to pierce my 9 year-old daughter's ears, she decided that it was time and after waiting a few months in case she changed her mind, we finally started to research safest piercing practices online and Gordon, from Ace & Sword in Long Branch was an easy choice (thank you Google!)
The price is $45.20 for both ears, which included surgical steel jewellery of different sizes (your kid's earlobe will be measured to check which earrings will suit best), some of it even sparkly :) Gordon is super calm and very nice, he wears surgical gloves and sanitizes the skin and uses all previously sanitized and sealed needles. You will never get that if you choose to pierce your kids' ears at the mall with a piercing gun that can't ever be properly cleaned!
My daughter said she didn't feel any pain at all, the skin didn't even turn pink, Gordon is amazing.
One day later, the skin around the piercings looks very healthy, no redness and no problems sleeping. It's been 2 months and still no problems at all, piercings look great.
If you want to pierce your kid's ears, when choosing jewelry, go for the small studs with a back that screws on without the sharp end, they actually stay on and don't have to be removed overnight. Just remember to spray them with antiseptic spray ($5.99 at the drugstore) and gently turn them once before bed with clean hands.
Gordon works Wednesdays to Saturdays 1-7pm at 3373 Lakeshore Blvd W. 416-503-4513
