This office is lucky to just get a one star today. I needed a new dentist after moving to Henderson, NV about two months ago. I called the office and made an appointment for just a "general cleaning" as I was due to have a second cleaning this year based on my dental insurance coverage. After filling in a in-depth profile of my dental needs I was put into a exam room. The young assistant came in to discuss pricing with me immediately which included panoramic x-rays and six other x-rays. I had already had this done with my dentist out of state, and brought a copy of my dental x-rays that were done in the Spring of 2017. Coast Dental also told me they would do an oral cancer screening today. The total came to about $82. and change.
I explained that I was not going to do this kind of payment as I had only come in to have a "general cleaning" for the second time this year as to what my dental insurance would cover.
It took several moments for the office to understand that I was not going to pay this amount of money for an initial visit. I then was examined by Dr. Rao, who told me there were no issues with my dental exam which he did as a peripheral exam.
The next step was for the hygienist to start the process of the exam of the pockets in my teeth. She did her work pressing very hard to check my gums, and they began to bleed. The conclusion of this visit was that the first assistant came back to me to tell me that the office was going to do a full deep cleaning because this is what I needed to have done. This new cost came to $536.00 for a deep cleaning that they told me would be done instead of a "general cleaning". Now, the Dentist had said there were no issues; yet this office believed that I would give them $536.00 less what the insurance company would pay them.
Needless to say, I was told there would not be a general cleaning today which is what I asked for and did not get. I am writing this review because I am also an insurance broker, and understand that this office was only interested in my money to the tune of $536.00 less $119.00 credit from the insurance company.
After I left the office today I phoned my dental insurance company today to find out how much in benefit dollars was left on my plan which is $767.00 for this year. It is obvious that Coast Dental did not even consider the funds left in my benefit plan. BUYER BEWARE before you get into a long and involved dental payment program with this office. I highly recommend that you look for another dental office to have them take care of your oral health.
