I had a wayspa certificate so I decided to go to a different place than my usual (which doesn't accept wayspa) for a mani/pedi and brow wax before my vacation. Booking was easy but they took my credit card number ahead of time to confirm the reservation. I've never had a salon do this before, but it wasn't a big deal-- just different.
When I arrived, the woman at the front was friendly and polite, but in the most condescending way. I hate being called "hun" and "sweetie" by a woman 10 years younger than me. It seems disingenuous when anyone does it but when it's used as punctuation... it's a little fake.
I wasn't crazy about the basement treatment room and pedicure chairs. When I'm spending this much, I do expect all the bells and whistles. It felt a little claustrophopic. My eyebrow wax was fine. I haven't had one before, but it was decent. No stray hairs left. I probably wouldn't get one again, though as my eyebrows have thinned a lot and some of the hairs have been going gray since I was 24, so not a lot to wax.
The gal doing my nails was super nice and we had several laughs. The tea she brought me was nice. I wish I could remember her name, but she did a terrific job. I had some surgery done a few months before on my wrist after a bad bike accident and she was really great about being gentle with me. Both my toes and hands looked great. I tipped her a 20.
Once I was done, I put on my coat and went to pay "Sweetie". All in all my services cost me $100. Not cheap considering I normally pay $50 at my usual place for just the mani/pedi and that includes a tip.
Services were good, but I don't know if I'd come back as I love my regular spot which is more convenient location-wise.
