  • To satisfy a bucket list item, my husband wanted to do laps on a racetrack in a Lamborghini. We chose Exotics Racing due to a recommendation from a guy at the Superbowl party we attended. They charge $300 to do 5 laps on their track. Prior to hitting the track, you are briefed for about 20 minutes with 20 other guys on how to handle the vehicle and track. There are no simulators, so you are hitting this experience cold. You are then driven around the track for 1 lap in a different vehicle. They give you a helmet and a guide rides with you for instruction and safety. The guide has his own brake and kill switch to help prevent disasters. I filmed (both still photos and video) the entire experience, although you can purchase the onboard video of your experience for about $85.00 additional cost. The first Lamborghini my husband got in started to smoke and the tires caught fire about 3/4 around the first lap. They quickly pulled into the pit while another guy met them with a fire extinguisher. My husband and his guide exited the smoke filled vehicle unharmed while the third guy continued to extinguish the car. after a brief visit to the office to report the event, they provided a second Lamborghini for my husband. However, they explained that since he had already traveled around the track for one lap he only had four laps remaining. Really? in a burning car? The experience for me was unnerving, but exhilarating for my husband. Visited February 2016
