  • We ended up here after attempting to get a seat at Andiamos at the D. Unfortunately they were booked solid for the night. Still wanting Italian, we took a quick walk down to The Golden Nugget and quickly got a seat at the bar at Grotto. The atmosphere was pretty cool at the bar since you got to watch them make their pizzas. I had the seared mozzarella appetizer which was delicious (especially the tomato sauce it was in.) The veal scaloppini in the main dish was very good as well. The highlight of the meal was the strawberry dessert. This was about two weeks ago and I can't remember the name of the dessert, but just get it. It was delicious. I tried to replicate it as soon as I got home and it wasn't close. Ask your server, they will know what it is. It's almost cake, cream, strawberries, and magic I think. The only complaint was that the service was a little slow. But I suppose that is to be expected on a Friday night at a bar seat.
