  • I have taken my 4 year old cockapoo here for about two years now, the last few times I have been less than satisfied. They completely ignored the requests I made and just cut his hair how they thought it should be. My male dog has a problem where the skin around his penis curls up and gets swollen if the hair there is trimmed. It gets aggravated and I have to pay to take him to the vet and then put medicine on the area for weeks. I love my dog, but I don't want to have to get that close to his penis on a regular basis. Every time I go in to Happy Tails I remind them of this request that they leave the hair in that area alone, as when it grows out he doesn't seem to have any problems. The man behind the desk showed me where they had my instructions written in my dogs file. The staff are always friendly and treat the dogs well. However, the last few times I picked up my dog he was completely shaven in that area and I have had to deal with a dog in pain and vet visits. I know my instructions aren't normal, that most people prefer this area to be cleaned up and shaven down, but I know my dog better than they do and I hate the pain it puts him in when they don't follow my requests! I will be looking for a new groomer.
