La Cave at the Wynn - my Sunday brunch served butler style - well that's a first for me and what a fancy experience.
The restaurant is beautiful inside with a patio overlooking Wynn's wonderful outdoor space and secluded pool area. I was seated at the window and it was busy and I'm so lucky I showed up just as they were opening - everyone else has a reservation and considering the Wynn buffet line was over and hour wait and the cafe's were all packed with long lines - I totally lucked out finding such a gourmet gem as La Cave.
Ordered the bottomless brunch Mimosas and chances are I'm going to be drunk again before noon - just saying !! So started off the morning right.
The brunch menu is served by the butlers and it's a all you can eat brunch for $48. Very cool !
Started with a fruit salad with berries, watermelon, pineapple all cut into very tiny pieces and shaved basil; very nice
Next was the Heirloom Tomato & Mozzarella Salad; which was nice as well.
The scrambled eggs were ok (cold actually), and the little baby Kobe beef slider was OMG out of this world juicy and just delish (and actually had to have a second one)....the "tater tots" loaded with sour cream and bacon were actually incredible !! The guail egg and ham flatbread was out of this world - I'm making that at home - the mushroom & truffle grits were really nice (haven't had grits in so long this sure was a treat !! )...The last dish that I had was the pancakes with berry compote - OMGosh yummy. There were about six other items that I chose not to have and the way they did the service was just fantastic - 5 star experience ! And they even ask you if you want a drink to go !! WOW !!
Let's see brunch $48 + $20 for Mimosas plus Tax = $73.61 + tip = $ 100 brunch - Expensive (maybe) but I got 4 drinks and a gourmet brunch and it was worth every penny !! (I loose that much at routlet in 10 min - and not as much fun !)
All in all this was likely the best "buffet" I've ever had - every single dish was high quality, gourmet outstanding dishes. The best was it was all served to you instead of a cattle line buffet. The Wynn outdid themselves - one of the best meals I've had this week in Vegas !
Actually the whole hotel has impressed me so much. Wonderful place !!
Still can't believe those light posts cost $10k each and there are thousands of them !! Way to go Steve Wynn you ROCK ! I'm staying here next visit !
