  • This review is regarding the service of TJ, one of the sales associates. My fiancĂ© and I walked into CarMax yesterday evening with the intention of checking out a few different makes/models of compact SUVs. I was pretty sure that I wanted a Honda CR-V but wanted to browse just to see how they compared in-person with a few class rivals. We were greeted by TJ and he took really great care of us, showing us several CR-Vs as well as other comparable models and taking his time to answer all of our questions. CarMax had a great deal on a used 2013 that we were really interested in, and we went ahead and ran the financing (all completed by TJ) and talked numbers. I didn't want to make a rash decision and knew there were a few other dealerships I wanted to check, and TJ was understanding of that. Unfortunately, we did not end up purchasing with CarMax purely because we found a CR-V in a different trim (EX-L vs LX) that fit our needs better and received a slightly lower APR through another dealership's promotional offer. However, I'm rating this visit and our experience at CarMax overall 5 stars because of the ease, comfort, and professionalism of our interactions with TJ specifically. I really appreciate the no-haggle pricing offered at CarMax (even though this may deter some buyers who prefer the "thrill of the hunt"/aggressive haggling), and I think their business model is solid and would be especially beneficial for first-time buyers. Check them out, and look for TJ! He will take good care of you. :)
