I have mixed feelings about The High Roller. Yes it was a cool experience but for me it's definitely a 'One & Done'. Don't get me wrong, there's something exhilarating about being so high up in the sky overlooking the city in the comfort of your own air conditioned pod. It's like zip lining without the whiplash, and much slower. And you're not sitting in restraints. Ok scratch that, it's nothing like zip lining. But the views are gorgeous and there is this tiny adrenaline rush you get once you step in. It's probably because of the feeling you get thinking your pod could plummet to ground at any moment if one of those wires were to snap. Tell me I'm not alone in these twisted thoughts?
I gave it 4 stars but it's more like 3.5. And even though I would consider this a tourist trap, it's still fun to play tourist once in a while. Biggest gripe is that it's very expensive, even for locals. I think it's geared more towards out-of-towners and the younger crowd who want to snap photos and share the experience via social media. #MyTripIsBetterThanYours. I suggest you get a drink (or I should say drinkS) at the bar before ascending up. The alcohol makes it a far better experience IMO.
